WHAT IS A SCHOOL-PARENT AND FAMILY COMPACT?

A School-Parent Compact for Achievement is an agreement developed jointly by parents, students and teachers that follows the federal guidelines as stated in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The compact explains how parents and teachers will collaborate to make sure all students reach or exceed grade-level standards.

  • Supporting parent participation in learning activities by inviting parents to sit in their child's classes for observations.
  • Providing several methods for regular teacher-parent communication, so that parents are kept up-to-date on their child (ren)’s progress
  • Ensuring that the language and format of the School-Parent Compact and other information regarding school activities are family-friendly by translating the compact in languages that are spoken by our students and parents, providing soft and hard copies of the compact and using common and simple language that everyone can understand.
  • Providing parents the opportunity in developing and revising the school compact by posting the draft of the compact on our school website and asking for parent input over a week's period.

As parents and family members invested in the education of our children, we promise to:

  • Be responsible for supporting our children’s learning at school by arriving to school and class on time and prepared for learning.

PARENT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES

We value our partnerships with all stakeholders and are proud of the many opportunities available for parents to be actively involved in the school and activities to support their child. This year, families will be invited to:
